Title I

Title I is the largest federal investment in elementary and secondary education, first enacted in 1965 as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), TItle I aims to close the achievement gap between disadvantaged and advantaged students.  With more than 56% of Seeley-Swan High School's student body qualifying for free and reduced lunch, this institution stands as a vital pillar in the community, receiving federal funding designed to boost academic success and help students achieve state standards.

Title I funds are the lifeblood that fuel innovative educational programming and targeted assistance initiatives, ensuring that every eligible student receives the tailored support they need to thrive.

Schoolwide Programs and Targeted Assistance

  • Schoolwide initiatives are designed to utilize all allocated funds to elevate the entire educational framework, ensuring that every student, especially those who may be struggling, reaps the benefits of a comprehensive and enriched learning environment.
  • Targeted Assistance focuses on delivering tailored services to a select group of identified students, providing them with the specific support they need to thrive academically.

Parent Involvement

  • Title I programs are the active involvement of parents. Schools are not only encouraged but required to foster strong partnerships with families through effective communication, training sessions, and opportunities for parents to engage in meaningful decision-making processes.
